Dear participants and visitors

During the European Dog Show which will takes place from 30.9.2010- 3.10. 2010 in Celje, the City of Velenje will host the Special Exhibition of Sighthounds. We are looking forward to this event and we are positive that it will become a memorable experience for all the participants and visitors of the exhibition.

In Velenje Municipality we strive to provide a pleasant environment for animals and we want to make sure that their keepers are satisfied as well. We are planning to open a regional animal shelter in the near future. Shortly, we will be able to offer a welcoming hotel service for animals where health care for the quadrupeds will be available at the modern veterinary clinic. The cooperation with the Kennel Association Velenje is good. The members of the Association are achieving excellent results with their dogs at the national and international exhibitions, and at the competitions of trained dogs. We are well aware of the fact that dogs can bring plenty of joy and happiness into the lives of their owners and that small animals mean a lot to their keepers. For this reason we are going to arrange a special remembrance place, that is, the cemetery for small animals.

The living with animals can have a positive impact on the health and well-being of people. Co-existence between animals and people can be helpful in developing a respectful attitude of children towards living beings.

These are just a few reasons for our support of such events and we intend to do so also in the future.
